Tree Board Meeting Minutes – Thursday, March 13, 2025

Attendees: Bob Rausch, Dave Crubaugh, Kris Crubaugh, Susanne Werner, and Travis Stuczynski

Meeting called to order by Rausch at 4:30 PM.

The 2025 Arbor Day is scheduled for April 25

  • Will be held in school cafeteria with 5th grade students.
  • Crubaugh to read Village Arbor Day Proclamation.
  • Stuczynski to do a presentation to Students.
  • Cookies provided by school (Tree Board reimburses).
  • 10 Oak trees will be planted on OakView Court to replace Ash trees lost to the Emerald Ash Borer. The school will bus the students.
  • Rausch will place an article in thew Community Spirit.

Stuczynski says the Arbor Day tree planting will be the spring planting and the next planting will occur in the fall. The Tree board can aid the staff by weeding and pulling existing mulch away from tree trunks and let him know so the staff can place new mulching. Note your hours as this is applied to our qualifying for Tree City 2025 designation.

Rausch proposed we do another tree give-away for VILLAGE RESIDENTS just like we did during the 150th Anniversary of the Arbor Day celebration. The Village Board sis allocate more funds to the Tree Board to cover costs for removal and replacement of ash trees. Rausch will approach Antiquity Acres to get costs (hoping Mary LeCount will donate the trees like last time) Rausch will try to keep the costs under $250.

Next meeting is April 17 4:30pm to verify everything is ready for the Arbor Day celebration.

Motion to Adjourn, m/s Crubaugh/Summers Ayes all.

Bob Rausch
