Christine Hodges

Village Trustee

I have lived in the Village of Amherst since 2017 and joined the Village Board in March 2020.

I was born and raised in Mounds View, Minnesota. Moved to Lanark in May, 2011 after retirement. Widowed after 40 years of marriage. Our oldest son did an internship at Medical College of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, after graduation from Carleton College in Minnesota, and our younger son attended and graduated from UWSP. They both met, and eventually married, Wisconsin girls and stayed to reside in Wisconsin. So, after our retirement, my husband and I moved to Wisconsin to be closer to them and our seven grandchildren. Two of my grandchildren currently attend school in Amherst, and I proudly and consistently attend their activities and sports games.

Have worked in various office settings over the years and, most recently, retired from Anoka-Hennepin School District after 25 years as administrative assistant to the principal. Within that position, served as a member of school Decision Making Council, Faculty Senate, Crisis Response Team, building union representative, and negotiation team committee member. I worked in both elementary and junior high/middle school buildings.

Over the years, I have volunteered for cub/boy scout organizations, high school sports booster clubs, church funeral committee, etc., within my communities.

I found a strong sense of community involvement by the residents of Amherst, and felt welcomed immediately to the community. The Village of Amherst is a great place to call home.
