Terms and Conditions for Paperless Billing Enrollment

  1. Eligibility
You must be a registered utility account holder with the Village of Amherst to sign up for paperless billing. Paperless billing is available for all active utility accounts.
  2. Service Enrollment
To enroll in paperless billing, you must provide a valid email address to receive your utility bills and related communications. It is your responsibility to ensure that the email address provided is accurate and up to date.
  3. Notification and Delivery
Once enrolled, your utility bills, payment reminders, and other account-related communications will be sent directly to the provided email address. You will receive your bill as an attachment or in the body of the email. You are responsible for regularly checking your inbox, including spam or junk folders, for any notifications.
  4. Bill Accessibility
Your utility bill will be sent to the provided email address, and you will need to view it directly from your email. The Village of Amherst does not provide online access to your bill outside of email delivery.
  5. Payment Responsibility
Signing up for paperless billing does not affect your obligation to pay your utility bills on time. You remain responsible for timely payment regardless of whether you receive the bill by email. Failure to receive or view an email does not exempt you from payment responsibilities or late fees.
  6. Changes to Email Address
You agree to promptly notify the Village of Amherst of any changes to your email address. Failure to do so may result in missed billing notices. The Village of Amherst is not responsible for any delays or missed communications due to incorrect or outdated contact information.
  7. Withdrawal from Paperless Billing
You may withdraw from paperless billing at any time by notifying the Village of Amherst at clerk@villageofamherst.wi.gov or 715-824-5613. Once you withdraw, paper bills will be mailed to the address on file, and paperless billing services will be discontinued.
  8. Security and Privacy
The Village of Amherst will take reasonable measures to protect your personal and account information. However, you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your email account and ensuring that no unauthorized individuals have access to it.
  9. Amendments to Terms
The Village of Amherst reserves the right to modify these terms and conditions at any time. Any changes will be communicated via email or posted on the Village’s website.

By enrolling in paperless billing, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these terms and conditions.
